Stop Slowing Your Bees Down
- Smooth, natural bee movement
- No congestion at the entrance
- Protects against yellow-legged hornets
Healthier bees. Faster movement. Stronger protection.
Asian hornets attack bees at the hive entrance, causing stress, disrupting foraging, and weakening the entire colony. The Ornetin Muzzle® is an innovative hive entrance protector designed to stop Vespa velutina while allowing bees to move freely and safely.
The Ornetin Muzzle comes as a self-assembly kit. It includes pre-cut natural wood panels, a transparent plexiglass front, and all necessary hardware for quick setup with basic tools.

Shipping
We ship worldwide. Orders are prepared and dispatched on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Delivery times vary depending on the destination country and carrier. Please note that orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to local customs duties and import taxes.
Returns
If you are not satisfied with your Ornetin trap, you may return it within 30 days of receiving it. Items must be unused and in their original condition. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the product is defective or incorrect.
Asian hornets wait at the entrance, catch returning foragers mid-air, and weaken your colony day after day.
Most solutions don’t work:
Protect your hive without slowing your bees — with a system designed for real-world hornet pressure.
Healthier bees. Faster movement. Stronger protection.
During the low season, remove only the plexiglass front and leave everything else in place year-round. Bees seem to enjoy the extra landing space — and your storage room will appreciate having one less thing to accommodate.
No technical skills required — anyone can install it.
Easy mounting and removing, with a single screw, and your hive is protected instantly.

It is recommended to install the muzzle during periods of high Asian hornetactivity, typically from late summer through autumn, when colonies are most at risk.
The Ornetin Muzzle significantly reduces hornet intrusion and pressure at the hive entrance. While no solution guarantees 100% prevention, it greatly improves colony defense and reduces successful hornet attacks.
We process and ship orders every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Orders within the EU typically arrive within 3–7 business days.

No. The Ornetin Muzzle is designed to allow smooth bee movement while
creating a controlled entrance that makes it harder for Asian hornets to attack
or enter the hive. Bees quickly adapt to the modified entrance.
Yes, you can attach the muzzle to a plastic hive using drywall anchors. It’s a simple, clean, and durable solution.
The side openings are designed to allow drones (male bees) to exit the hive, similar to the side passages commonly found on pollen traps. Since drones are larger than worker bees, they cannot pass through some of the narrower protection areas.
The green plugs are provided to close these side exits later in the season, when hornet pressure increases and drones are no longer present in significant numbers. This helps maximize hive protection during peak predation periods.
