There are mainly two trapping methods depending on the season:

In spring, for trapping queens, remove the green caps to allow Vespa germanica to exit and use the blue nozzle. The best bait for this period is a mixture of red fruit syrup / light beer / white wine in equal parts (33% each). Pour to a height of 1 cm and place the trap in a vertical position.

In summer and autumn, put the green caps back on and replace the nozzle with the purple one. The best bait at this time is sugar syrup poured onto an absorbent material such as straw. Place the trap horizontally, either on the ground or suspended.
